Since finding out about this photographer by simply entering a 'fashion photography' search into google, I have been really inspired. I would love to try and recreate the same kind of images as these.
The reason these photos stood out for me is because they are fashion related, on location as opposed to studio work. They are also interesting. There is a lot of detail in the background that doesn't take away from the main focal point (the model), but does make for an interesting backdrop.
He seems to generally go for a very grubby, grungy background with muted colours of greys and browns.
Its almost very industrial. And then there is a stark reality of modernism in the models clothing, pose etc.
The lighting comes across very natural. And although the locations seem dirty and scruffy, the feeling given from the models pose is of calm.

Flickr
Steve advised a good way for me to add several images is to link them to the site by using Flickr.
I have created my very own flickr account to add photos too, and then will add the link to my blogger which will then allow you to view images.

Going forward....
After describing what I want to do with Steve (my tutor) he has helped me to figure out which area to concentrate on and which certificate I will be working too.
I am going to complete the 7512-93 Level 3 Certificate in Specialist Photography & Image Output. To complete this I will need to complete a mandatory unit - Unit 310 Photo image output. I will also have to complete and optional unit- Unit 307 Location Photography.
The reason for choosing this certificate and units is because I want to focus on fashion/portraiture again like last time. But this time I want to merge this with an environmental back drop instead of a blank white canvas of a studio. This is why I have opted for Location photography. I want to recreate work I have found similar to below, but with my own take on it!

As you can see, the image above is fashion focused, but with a stunning back drop.
I will be showing you images I like from other photographers. Some of these are landscape photographers, and others will be solely fashion led photographers.
My plan is to merge the two together!
An idea of where I am...
I have attached some photos so you can see roughly where I am in my abilities.
This way you can see the kind of images I am interested in looking at and producing myself.
These images were captured over three different studio shoots which I organized.
I sourced the clothes, model, did the make up/hair myself if it needed doing.
I had a little guidance for the first shoot for the lighting set up, but after that I knew how and what I wanted the image to come out, and was confident in setting up the lighting to get the right result.
This was from the first shoot I did in the studio.
This image has been edited to drain the colour from the image.
A black and white layer was added to this image, and then the opacity was altered to create a dusky colour/effect.
I was really pleased with this kind of image being produced from my first ever photo shoot.
This image was from my 2nd photo shoot, again in a studio environment. The make up was an interesting thing to do! This idea was from a photo shoot I had seen on Americas Next Top Model on television. I thought I would try to recreate it but with my own twist. Again the model was sourced by myself (someone I work with). The makeup/hair was done by myself, after downloading the episode of ANTM off the internet, I watched how they did it.
This image was from my 3rd and final photo shoot in the studio. This is the same model I had used in my other shoots. I sourced the jacket myself from Springfields Army Stores on loan for the shoot. I wanted a very military look, with harsh makeup, hence the red lipstick and heavy bronzer. I love this picture because of the shape of her body how it curves.
Another reason for doing military was because I wanted to focus on fashion instead of beauty, and on all catwalks and in magazines for the season was military.
In this studio session, we had an outfit change to almost fit 2 sessions into 1.
This is the second part of the third studio shoot.
I wanted to change from the military image to a very soft image.
When converted to black and white, the make up didn't seem nearly as harsh as before. The dress was chosen because of the shape it would give as it was layered. Also a trend for the season as in magazines I had been looking through.

About me....What to do....
I am 25 years old, and work in an I.T. environment in an office full time.
Photography was/is a hobby for me, but it is also something I would like to progress into on a more full time basis eventually.
I have previously completed the Level 2 course here at Burton College.
I found this a great way to introduce myself too and build confidence in photography.
I had always shown interest in fashion photography. On the level 2 course I decided I would concentrate on this, as this is where my passion was.
For level 3, I am still a little undecided which route to go down. I am still very much interested in fashion photography. But over the last few months (over summer), I have shown a real interest and flare for wildlife/landscape photography. This is because of local surroundings, and where I holidayed.
You cannot go to the Lake District in Cumbria (one of the most beautiful places in the UK), and not realise the beauty in images.
I also have two dogs, whom I love to photograph.
But I am always drawn back to fashion.
I am therefore thinking of merging the two ideas. Instead of doing fashion studio photography, I am keen to try fashion photography on location. This means I can merge the two passions together, and hopefully finish with the best outcome.
